Position Title: Workflow and Education Specialist
Reports To: Workflow and Education Manager

This position is under the general direction of the Workflow and Education Manager, with
oversight from the VP of Enterprise Logistics. The ideal candidate will possess a well-balanced
skill set that allows for successful interaction with a diverse range of clients and new OSM
employees. Additionally they should possess superior phone and computer skills as well as having
an advanced knowledge of OSM ‘s current mammography workflow and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the initial workflow creation and documentation, as well as the ongoing
    success of the new mammography service in new practices. Assist ONsite in any and all
    ways possible to get a new mammography service up and running – this is particularly
    critical in the first 18 months of a new practice.
  • Create and maintain all forms and reports related to installing the new locations
  • Utilize, maintain and update the OSM Workflow Education Manual
  • Train new OSM employees on-site during designated new hire training weeks
  • Execute on-site Go Live weeks with new employees to assure success
  • Help identify and solve existing employee workflow educational opportunities
  • Become a super user of Electronic Health Record software
  • Participate in the OSM installation process at multiple levels, as proficiency develops
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned
  • Provide technical workflow assistance for incoming requests related to challenges and any
    other coordinator responsibility
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
    Education & Minimum Qualifications Required
  • College degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of practical experience.
  • Very strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Power Reader).
  • Ability to perform responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Extensive Travel Required

Physical Requirements

  • The duties described above will require frequent standing and walking; the employee will
    frequently bend/stoop, twist, and turn.

Hours & Compensation

  • Salary position.
  • Company benefits including: Health & Dental insurance, paid vacation, and paid holidays.
  • Annual performance bonus (amount at discretion of supervisor and senior management).

This position works under the general direction of the practice physicians, off-site radiologist, National Director of Clinical Operations and the Regional Manager. Working directly with Practice providers, their administrator, practice staff, and various members of the ONsite Mammography organization as needed, this position will also interact with Radiologists and their staff, Hospitals, and/or Radiology Imaging Centers.

The ideal candidate will possess a well-balanced skill set that allows for successful interaction with a diverse range of patients and will possess superior mammography technical skills. The position’s primary responsibility is to perform Digital Mammography of the breast at a technical level that will produce the highest quality mammographic images for diagnostic cancer screening purposes.

Responsibilities

Specializes in the production of screening and diagnostic mammograms for the detection of breast cancers and lesions.

  • Responsible for the initial and ongoing success of the mammography service in the practice in which one works. Assist practice in any and all ways possible to be sure all eligible age appropriate patients have annual screening mammograms – this is particularly critical in the first 18 months of a new practice.
  • Prepares patients for the mammographic procedure.
  • Explains procedures to the patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Moves mammographic equipment to specific positions and adjusts controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.
  • Practices radiation protection techniques by using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding skills.
  • Follows prescribed safety standards in operating all required equipment.
  • Examines digital images for image quality.
  • Insures equipment is in proper working order at all times.
  • Performs all required QA testing required to comply with MQSA, ACR and State requirements/regulations.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Processes routine paperwork and all required data entry.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Prepares all required reports and data pursuant to MQSA and State requirements.
  • Performs all mammography tracking following MQSA guidelines and requirements.
  • Maintains all QA documents necessary to exceed Annual FDA Inspection requirements.
  • Is responsible for obtaining and maintaining ACR accreditation.
  • Performs all other duties as may be assigned.
  • Assists the Radiologist with QA/QC reporting.

Education & Minimum Qualifications Required

  • ARRT required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience.
  • Must maintain CME’s as required by State and or National accreditation bodies.
  • Proof of required educational level(s) due at time of hire.
  • Self-starter who can work without daily supervision.
    Physical Requirements
  • The duties described above will require frequent standing and walking, the employee will frequently bend/stoop, twist, and turn.

Hazards

  • Works with low dose radiation utilizing proper shielding. Works with electrical equipment and will have close contact with patients and may come into contact with blood or body fluids.
